Cheggers awards Metro Fish Bar in Bury, Manchester!
A big WEY-HEY to the North West where I had my busiest day yet! It started sharply on the Century Radio North West Breakfast Show where I took on hosts Ditchy & Salty in the infamous ‘Six Dart Challenge’. Then on see the legend that is ‘Toolan in the Morning’ on Key 103 before appearing live on Channel M TV with Comedian of the Year Jason Mansford.
I just had time to pop in to XFM catch up with Mike McClean before heading to the Metro Fish Bar, Bury where TV crews from Granada Reports and Channel M were waiting as well as the Tower FM news team and photographers from the Bolton News, Bury Times and Manchester Evening News. I wrapped up my trip to the North West by stopping off to see the lovely Becky Want on BBC Radio Manchester broadcasting live from Manchester Airport. What a day-hey!

Cheggers Day Out in Birmingham!
What a day-hey in beautiful Brum! It started very early broadcasting live from the Bourneville Chippy for Heart West Midlands where I was joined by lots of lovely listeners for a chip-tastic breakfast. Then it was across town for loads of on-air fun with Elliot and Caroline on BRMB before chipping-in for a chat on Signal Radio and BBC Radio 6.
The B’my Chip was packed out when I arrived to present Anthony and his cheerful team with their Perfect Portion Awards. It was standing room only for the ITV Central crew and photographers from the Birmingham Mail, Post and Sutton Coldfield Observer.
And finally… I popped for a quick cuppa with the lovely Tammy Gooding on Smooth Radio. It turned into a bit of singsong with my chirpy chip tune competing with ‘I want to be a winner’ by Brown Sauce – my eighties smash hit with Noel and Maggie from Swap Shop!

Zero Plus Fish Bar in Cardiff Scoops Award!
Wey-hey! What a great day I’ve just had in Cardiff presenting the first Perfect Portion 2009 Awards. I’ve not stopped, starting first thing in the Red Dragon studios with breakfast show host Dan Mills then on to meet my old friends Jamie and Louise on BBC Radio Wales.
Then it was down the serious business of presenting Zohaib Hussain, the owner of the Zero Plus Fish Bar on the Cowbridge Road with both the Welsh and my special Perfect Portion Award. We had nominations from across the country from Ryhl to Croesgoch, Caerphilly to Llandudno however when it came to the crunch Zero Plus Fish Bar customers clearly felt that it is THE place to go in Wales and I couldn’t agree more! It was obviously a popular choice as we could hardly move for TV crews from ITV Wales and S4C as well as photographers from all the papers who all joined me in marking the occasion with a live performance of my chip tune!
