Another busy day-hey! This time I’ve been in Brum presenting Danny at the Bournville Fish Bar with the Midlands Perfect Portion.
He’s a great guy and told the best joke of the tour so far - what do you call a crab that won’t share? Shellfish! Wey-hey! Just DON’T ask him to sing…

Day 2 of National Chip Week
What a great crowd at the Scarborough Fisheries, Dewsbury helping Paul Gledhill celebrate winning the Yorkshire Perfect Portion. Some real characters! Now I’ve got on my bike (thanks Ben!) and I’m pedalling fast over the Pennines to meet not just the North West’s but the National Perfect Portion wey-inner! Who is it? Chips Love the Locals!
A study into chip eating habits has shown that chip shops provide more than just a great portion of chips...
Research shows that for 1 in 6 people the chip shop is the place they are most likely to see or hear regional words and phrases!
We know the perfect portion of chips start with perfect potatoes, but would you know the difference between a ‘poke of chips’, ‘potato dabs’ and a ‘potato scallop’? Or be able to identify a ‘fish lot’ from ‘fish and nerks’? Test your knowledge in The Chip-tionary and see which words you recognise!

Chips Cheer You Up - OFFICIAL!
The experts of Aston University, Birmingham, have confirmed that enjoying a portion of chips officially cheers you up! They found that after a portion of chips people experienced a 13% increase in cheerfulness!!
Dr Mike Green who led the research explains: “The consumption of chips clearly improved respondents’ mood. The psychological data showed that participants who were feeling down felt better after eating chips. In fact, calmness was restored within twenty minutes.”
